A little about me
I am Taranaki born and raised and have always been drawn towards supporting people to thrive and enabling them to overcome adversity. This led me to study a Bachelor of Social Work, in which I graduated with honors in 2012. My professional background has predominantly been in community social work. In 2018 I gained a certificate in Professional Supervision, a role that allows me to use my knowledge and experience to support others in the helping profession, which I find truley rewarding. Experencing a traumatic birth of my own, propelled me into my own healing journey and onto becoming a Healing Birth Certified Practitioner. I am passionate about working with people who are wanting to heal from their own birth trauma.
Unravelling & healing your birth trauma
What is birth trauma?
Birth trauma is any physical or emotional distress you may experience during or after childbirth. The events or experiences do not necessarily cause it, but occur by how we process the events or experience. Two different people can go through the same experience and come out of it with completely different feelings. During the birth, you may have felt scared, helpless, disappointed or unsupported by those around you. After the birth, you may be left feeling guilty or numb due to events that were beyond your control. If you feel like you've had a negative, less than ideal, or traumatic experience surrounding your birth, then that feeling is real, and it is valid - I am here to hold space for you and to really hear your story in a safe and supported environment.
Work with me
During our session (usually around 2 hours), we will unpack and work through the feelings and events from your birth, and I will support you to make better sense of what happened and why. I provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgemental space for you to express whatever comes up for you. I will suggest tools that could be useful in your healing journey and support you to let go of any guilt you may still be carrying. My hope is that you'll leave our session feeling lighter, empowered and ready to start on your healing birth trauma journey. I will send you a follow-up email shortly after our session with the key ideas, tools for healing, and any resources we discussed.

Planning for your healing birth
Plan with me
Planning for a healing birth after experiencing birth trauma is a natural progression for many parents. It can help you regain control of the birthing process and reduce the physical, emotional, and psychological effects many people suffer after this type of situation.
Your healing birth plan can include strategies and support systems to reduce anxiety and fears so you can set yourself up for a more positive birth experience. I want to help you feel empowered, set boundaries, and make educated decisions about your birth so you can create positive birth memories. Because you deserve it!
These sessions are available to those who have had an ‘unravelling and healing your birth trauma session’ with me, and generally take 1.5 hours. I will send you a follow-up email shortly after our session with the key ideas, tools for healing, and any resources we discussed together.
Investment $180
Combo of ‘unravelling + planning’ $400

Professional Supervision
Professional supervision is a formal and ongoing partnership between us as practitioners. We will work together to enhance your practice, professional development and skills through reflection and discussion. Through this collaborative process, we will develop our relationship, enabling us to work through ethical issues, client challenges, personal and professional dilemmas, up-skilling, insight, agency processes and overall wellbeing.
As a supervisor, my role primarily comprises three different dimensions - support, professional development and management. Depending on your needs, these tend to be fluid from session to session. In a typical supervision process, we would generally discuss an experience and I will help you to reflect and analyse your practice. I will provide feedback and guidance to help you have a clearer idea about your next steps forward.
Send me a message, and let’s talk about your supervision needs.
Therapy / Counselling
I am currently providing therapy/counselling through Telus Health EAP and Taranaki Primary Connections (TPC). If you work for an organisation or have a partner who works for an organisation with access to Telus Health (formerly Benestar) EAP support, you can see me for FREE through their funded sessions. Taranaki Primary Connections is a brief intervention service providing support for individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues. Generally, referrals are made through your GP, midwife or another community provider. If you qualify and your referral is accepted, I can see you for 4 FREE sessions.
My sessions provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to share your experiences, express emotions, and process your feelings in a supportive and compassionate setting. I use a range of approaches and tools to assist you, always guided by your unique needs and desired outcomes.
If you are unsure about funding, send me a message and we can talk.
